I'm hopefully getting into some serious photo editing soon and just discovered that my iMac isn't calibrating properly. Further the calibration tool on the iMac is very confusing and, in my opinion, not too accurate. I've read up on the Datacolor Spyder external calibrator and it seems that the best version is very expensive, but it may be worth it. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Get either a Spyder 4 Pro or an Xrite ColorMunki Display.
Both will basically do the same job. Go for which is cheapest.
