I purchased a Macbook Air about six months ago. I love it. However, it falls asleep whenever it damn well pleases and then doesn't always wake up when I use the space bar. Sometimes it wakes up when I jossle it a bit or close and re-open, but this doesn't always work....I actually took my original in with this issue and they switched out computers, so I got a new one, but it's doing the same thing! Anyone else having this issue?

That lazy bastard...

Did you try fiddling around with the power management settings?

Step 1: Open System Preferences

Step 2: Select energy saver

Step 3: Click on battery settings,
Step 4: Change time til sleep and any other options.

Let me know if that helps.

The fact it's happening on two different machines makes me think it's something you're doing with it.

Are you keeping anything magnetic near it? Is another device in the close vicinity of your computer when this is happening? How about you make sure you move all peripherals and electronic gadgets away from it, make sure to keep it far from anything magnetic, unplug whatever you may have plugged into it and report back if the issue still occurs.

Solution hogged from here:
