How does in store pickup work?
When should I arrive?
I've never done it before and the link goes to the apple store website which is down.
You simply choose a store, model and a pickup time.
You'll then get an email confirming it.
Unfortunately my local store wasn't available and I wasn't willing to drive 90-100 minutes (mostly due to traffic) to pick it up.
I didn't get pickup time.
Just an emailing saying my item with be available for pickup on 9/19 and they would notify me when it is ready.
But we are guaranteed the phone that day if we preordered in store pickup for 9/19 right?
That's my worry but I've spoken to many Apple staff via the chat and they say that the iPhone 6 is "ours" when reserving it.
I have my email confirm. I was wondering how pickup worked on pickup day. It didn't give me an option for a pickup time.
When does one show up to pick up their device?

Strange. Must be different ways of doing it. I'd just get there when your Apple Store opens.
So I have a "your order is being processed" email that I got immediately after placing the order. Nothing else since then. Normal?

In store pick ups from pre orders are seperate devices from devices purchased at launch without pre order, right?
Do you guys -really- think that in store pick up is going to go smoothly?

You'll get an email that you're phone is available to pick up. You'll be able to get it anytime during store hours. As far as I know they're not going to tell you a specific time to show up.
I wouldn't be surprised if those emails don't happen until launch day.
