Installer troubles.

Alright, first every time I try to install anything, the installer crashes after I put in my password. Also, the software update has been running into unexpected errors the last few days. However the update tells me that it is running successfuly, when it isnt. What is going on here?
 
Try to run the "Repair Permissions" by Disk Utility, or log in as root user and install.

I had a similar problem with installers (Adobe GoLive and InDesign among others) many times. I finally found out that the permission deal was the issue there.
