So - this is more of an Apple TV question than a home theater question -but:
I am using Macbook Air 11-inch, Mid 2013 and an ATV3 to extend my desktop to another monitor.
Apple does a poor job of handling external displays, and so I implemented the EDID override here: http://www.ireckon.net/2013/03/forc...ix-the-picture-quality-of-an-external-monitor to get my monitor hooked up via a Thunderbolt -> DVI cable to look like it should.
However, the monitor driven by the Apple TV does not allow me to select the 'Forced RGB' color profile, so the colors look washed out and the text looks like crap.
I've done testing, and here are the things it's not:
1) It's NOT the cable
2) It's NOT the monitor
Is there some way to force the Apple TV to use the color profile of my choice? I don't want the HD 709-A profile. I need that EDID profile or else I need Apple to properly support external displays.
Anybody run into this? Any fixes?
