Installing applications authentication.

I am logged into my computer as the admin, but when I ran the installer for this program I am trying to get on my machine. after I put in my password as the admin, it tells me that I need to be the admin or higher to install. I even logged in as the root user and I still got the error. What is going on here?

you might have to repair disk permissions.....
