Backing up old photos to iCloud

Hi,

I have a very, very old Macbook with over 10,000 pictures on it. Unfortunately, it's so old that I can't update my iPhoto to the newest version to make it compatible with iCloud.

I've transferred all of my photos to my PC and installed iCloud on there. However, is it possible to add these pictures to iCloud?When I go to Photo Stream and choose "Add", none of these pictures will transfer.

Is there any way at all to get all these old pics onto iCloud?
