Has anyone gotten 10 hours battery life on their iphone 6 from one charge ? Apple's page on the iphone 6 posts 11 hours on wifi, 10 hours on LTE . Has anyone else gotten something close to this ? Most I've gotten was 7 hours..

Most people seem to be getting good battery life. Mine seems to suck. It's probably my usage and settings. But I can't imagine my phone getting those kinds of numbers.

"UP TO..." being the key words on Apple's page.

I wouldn't expect anything like the number they post unless you are being very conservative with you power settings (low brightness, wifi/bluetooth off, background app refresh off, good cell signal, etc).

there's a lot of factors.

biggest factor, for me, is signal strength. when i'm at work (work at the airport), i only get 5-6 hours usage. 1-2 bars if that..

when i'm away from work 6-8 hours no problem.

I get pretty dam close to 10 hours of wifi usage with about 50% brightness on my iPhone 6, like roughly 9 hours or so

can you post what settings you have it on ? I'm also on wifi usually and max I can get is 7 hours even below 50 % brightness ..

One key thing I noticed is you should disable cellular data when you have wifi enabled. For some reason if you have both "cellular data" and "wifi" available, it drains faster than if you just had wifi enabled. You would think the phone would be smart enough to know that you are on wifi, so don't waste battery on the cellular stuff, but it does not.

-No push email on

-Background app refresh off

-Limit ad tracking

-report diagnostics and usage off

-vibrate on ring:OFF (because the vibration motor goes off all day, throughout the day) if you dont care for vibrate with Sound on

-auto brightness helps alot

-iCloud drive off

-I have some iCloud sync features off, like Photos, Reminders, etc

I unplug it around 5am just before I go to work and I am moderate to heavy user. I have to put it back on charge around 10 on the evening. About the same as with my Galaxy S5. With iPhone 5s same usage I did have do charge once around 3pm before leaving work.

Question: Does the battery get damaged on any way being all night plugged on charge?

Your phone is smart enough to know when to stop loading your battery ;)

You can get mails in the background with fetch.

Apple battery test is with standard settings so all those things on. It's on their website. Of course the more you add the worse the battery life. Not everything need to be pushed notification and running in the background.

I am getting fantastic battery life. I am getting roughly 8-10 hours of moderate to heavy usage each day. Extremely impressed with my battery life over the course of the last few days since purchasing the device. I was expecting similar performance to my 5s but this blows that away.

I rarely believe apple battery figures. Anandtech said they got 10 hours or so with LTE on the 6 and about 11 I believe with wifi, both tests were web browsing. I think backlight at 25 percent not sure on other settings.

I haven't seen an iphone 6 get that. I know a few people who have one and they haven't.

I don't see it on their website at all, can you link/quote where you see apple says they have everything turned on during the battery tests?

I can easily go from around 8am - 10pm daily without needing to charge my 6 Plus back up. I just charge it overnight so it's ready to go the next day.

Awesome, I bookmarked it for future reference, thanks for letting me know about it :)

welcome :)

notice how on some tests they turn auto brightness off. crafty or just common sense? to me given the type of test it seems more common sense

Depending on what your "use" is, 7 hours is OK. 10 hours is under Aplle's ideal conditions and most will not see that.

My 6 comes home and goes on the charger with way more power than my 5S did, even when the 5S was new.

I am very happy with my battery life.

Girlfriend's gettin' around 6/7 hours with her 6. Wifi on most of the time, some 3/4G and mostly just on Facebook/Wechat etc when she can sporadically at work.

A work day in the UK is around 10 hours if you include commuting.
