All iPads Pictures shut message down

when I try to select a picture in message it keeps shutting messages down.ive tried all the easy ,normal fixes but not fixing it .its on a iPad 2 with iOS 8 but this just started this yesterday so I don't think ios8 is the problem.any ideas
