I started downloading iTunes in oct 2003- just noticed that about the first fifty of my downloaded songs, starting from the first download till about three months later, had those exclamation marks indicating that the file can't be found. A search of my hard drive fails to turn up the file. However, it appears that those missing songs are still on my ipod. The guy at the Genius bar was no help. Anyone had this? Also, I heard there was software to allow a reverse transfer from iPod to iTunes, can anyone recommend one?

My first post, thanks in advance. Dave

Did you happen to put those songs on an External drive? There might be a program out there for you to recover your songs from your ipod. Try ipodrip.
