This should be obvious, but I don't want to screw it up: New iphone 6 will arrive in a few days. I have a 5, backed up to icloud. What is the high-level best practice on what exactly to do when you get the new phone? I'm guessing something like this, but I don't want to get it wrong and wreck something:

1 - Back up old phone manually to icloud.
2- Turn off old phone
... but wait, do I FIRST turn off find my iphone on it and reset-nuke it?
3 - Turn on new phone
4 - Activate it
5- make it restore from icloud
6- Do what to old phone to prep it?

I don't want to accidentally end up with both phones turned on at the same time and wreck some of my accounts/emails/messages/settings or tear a hole in the time space continuum.

1. Back up to iCloud/This computer via iTunes
2. Don't need to nuke the old phone yet.
3. When you get the new phone, restore from iCloud/or this computer via iTunes
4. You're done
5. Nuke the old phone if you want to.

Having both phones on at the same time won't wreck your accounts.
