Question for Verizon UDP Gurus.....

Currently my wife has a stand alone plan with her in one single line on her own account. We are about to AOL someones UDP as line number 2.

Would it be possible to port her number away from Verizon for a few days and then port it to the UDP line? My understanding is that you can't simply switch numbers but from all i have read it sounds like porting from outside Verizon will work.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I know you can port a number to Google Voice, but it costs 20 bucks. Could take up to 3 days.

Then to port it back to verizon its 3 bucks I believe. Which again could take up to three days.

Is it quicker to port over to major carrier (Att, sprint, tmobile) and then port back again? Always could open account and cancel within 14 days.
