I've encountered the exact same problem when trying to download other programs on my newer mac laptop. I've found that sometimes it has already downloaded and I just couldn't find it! But whether that' the case or not, I think that you should be able to solve the problem by making a few easy adjustments. Begin by going into your computer's System Preferences section and selecting either Users & Groups OR Accounts, then in there make sure that you are logged in as an Administrator. Next, make sure the 'privilege' levels are set to 'Read & Write' and then lock/apply changes. After that, try downloading/installing the program again
