Even on the desktop site, if you put the iPad in your cart, then checkout and select "store pickup" it indicates that you can pick it up today.
Yeah...looks like Wifi only, but it does appear that they have them for pickup today.
Still says preorder when I go there. What area do you live when you are selecting store pickup?
I just went through the motions, and all mine says is "available to pick up on release day." So I chose my store, and it then changed to "preorder now. pickup in store 10/24."

On the mobile site all the local best buys said 10/24, but on the desktop site half of the stores near my zip show unavailable. Those that have a date say 10/24.
EDIT: I went ahead and checked that best buy location in Tulsa and it says 10/24 for me too. Weird.
I'm not trying to brag...just wondering if it is a mistake or if they really have them. I guess I'll find out in about an hour.
I pre-ordered on BB.com a few days ago for instore pickup on 10/24. I'll stop by there later and see if it's ready or not.
I'm just hoping they'll have some cellular versions in before their iPad trade in promo stops on Nov 8th.

Just called and my Best Buy said they didn't receive any yet.

So, the pre-orders from BB say that they're available for pick up in store on Friday the 24th. Does that mean that they'll be available to walk into the store and buy one on the 24th as well?
So it can be used instantly then? Would like to just show up and trade the old one in and pick up the new one all in one shot if possible (assuming mine doesn't sell here on the forums in the marketplace).
