Picked up a 2012 mac mini or $400 at Best Buy. It seems to be working ok when I set it up using my TV. Even attempted to grab the call when my iphone rang.

Want to pickup a monitor for it, but the thunderbolt display 27" is huge and $1,000 seems over kill for my needs. I almost went for a 24" cinema display, but figured it wasn't really compatible and more for a macbook than a mac mini.

I definitely want facetime and continuity to work. The mac mini does have BT4. Any suggestions on a value priced monitor setup with a camera and mic?

I'm in the market for a display as well. Just nabbed a 2012 mini i7. My 2008 mini will now become a server. I don't need anything near as fancy as an ACD. I just need something that won't look like butt and hurt my eyes while using it.

TIA

My solution

Did this a few months ago used Asus PB278 27" 2560 x 1440. You must use Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable to get that resolution. Also used Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920. Same resolution as Apple display without the glare, it's matte finish. And the best benefit half the price for both!
