iPhone Touch ID Not Level

I had a question about the Touch ID on the iPhone 6. I noticed when feeling it and looking from the side it barely sits below the rest of the surface.

The outer ring is level with the phone but the actual Touch ID button sits a little below.

Is this normal or should it be completely level?

You remind me of ME when it comes to Apple OCD. I'm the guy who went through probably 20 iphone 5's in a year span. It will consume you if you freak out about every little thing. Just enjoy the device.
