Hi

i was wondering if there is a user-friendly app or widget to control 3rd party displays as F1/F2 buttons work only with apple screens ?

thanks

There doesn't seem to be any that work very well. I have an Acer K272HUL I plug my rMBP into for desktop work. I've consigned myself to used the buttons on the monitor: Eco for normal, fairly-low brightness; Standard for when I need a bright monitor (rarely); and User for real low brightness. It's certainly not as convenient as when I had an iMac for desktop work, but it works.

Brightness Slider works well for me on Yosemite.
I even have the shortcut keys set to F1 and F2
I use it regularly to watch online movies etc.
Bonus is it is Free,

Does this fix the problem with the silver ACD's for Mavericks onwards? Or does one still need to place in the kernel extensions from Mountain Lion…
