I currently have an iPhone with Verizon. The phone is payed for in full already.
If I cancel my plan & leave Verizon, does the SIM/GSM slot stay functional (so I could drop a T-Mobile SIM in there)?

Thanks!

If it's a iPhone 5 or newer the answer is yes.

if it's a 5s/5c or newer, you'll get full functionality. a regular 5 and you'll be able to make and receive calls, but data will be iffy (2g/3G); you won't get lte on t-mobile.
