iPhone tricking the phone

Only one I know of is xcon, but it hasn't been updated for iOS8 yet

Tricking the phone is not the issue, the app itself does a search for certain files on the phone as it loads, if it finds any such files, it fails to continue loading and defaults to a "Sorry, your phone is jailbroken" type page.

As far as I know, none of the apps have been updated for iOS8, not xCon, not tsProtectorP nor dtvrunner.

That's why there are different tweaks for different apps (DTV, Tivo, etc)... gotta wait until each is updated. Wish tivo's fix would come out.
