Just two for me, the 2005 original, and now the early 2009.

I am still using the 2009 Mini. With an upgrade to a SSD, and maybe more RAM, I guess I will be for a few more years…… If and when repair or upgrade is no longer cost effective, it will probably be replaced with another Mac Mini.

My first one was a refurbished early 2009, 2.0GHz. Slowly got my wife to start using it, then upgraded to the 2010 2.4GHz model which has been our main desktop and iTunes/Apple TV server. Just recently grabbed a refurbished 2012 2.3GHz with a 256GB SSD which I'm going to start transitioning to in the next few weeks, love the speed of it so far.

Yes, used ones do count. Any Mac Mini owned at some stage. How acquired, and still owned or not, are both irrelevant.

Small whoops….. included 10 twice. Was thinking of finishing with more than 10, but added the 10 - 15 option; should have been 11 to 15.

Last year I bought a Refurbished Mac Mini 2012 basic model from the Apple Store with 4GB Ram and 500 GB Hard drive with Apple Care and it has been a very good purchase for all of my computer needs.

2009 2.0GHz [sold]
2011 i5 6630M [current]
2012 i5 (bought in Feb 2014) [current]

Love(d) them all. Loved getting in and swapping bits and pieces, home made Fusion and the like.

Good fun machines - and very capable too.

The illegal citizen: the 1.5Ghz G4
The late 2009 2.26
The Radeon one.
Might be trying to get a 2.6/2.3 quad before they are hard to get.
Off course all were improved DIY. The G4 had a ram upgrade, The 2009 runs as media center now and got the RAM of the 2011 with a new 7200rpm HD, the 2011 got 16GB, 256GB SSD and 7200rpm HD.
I sold the G4 for 100€ last year, and bought back a G4 iMac with speakers for 70€! Mini's kick ass on resale value!

I have a 2010, 2.4GHz Mini maxed out with 16GB of ram and a 480GB SSD. Although its processor is pretty outdated, its GPU is nearly on par with HD 4000 (at least this is what gfxBench says).

I've owned about 12 minis. I've purchased about 5,000 minis. :) One of the perks of my job is the new Mac smell a few times a day.

One day in (to a 14 day poll), and 63 respondents, folks here seem to like / are loyal to the mini Mac concept. About 2/3 have owned more than one Mac Mini, and over half have had three or more. From the comments it seems quite a few have more than one currently in use.

There are a few who have never owned a Mac Mini and never will, but none left a comment. Of course the Mini is not for everyone; it would be interesting if some could say why.

I still own both of mine, an early 2009 and the 2012. I didn't realise it until I ready the 'what was your first mini?' thread but basically these two machine (and the 2011 perhaps) are characterised by being at least as powerful as the contemporary iMac - in CPU terms at least.

2.

1.2008 Core2Duo. It ran great for years with 2Gig ram and 120Gig HDD, but just started to get slower and slower. I added 4Gig of ram and a 1Tb hybrid drive. This really woke it up. It still runs Snow Leopard and a lot of my legacy software.

2. I just picked up a 2012 quad core. The 2008 is now a server for my house. The 2012 will be getting a ram upgrade and maybe a possible fusion drive.

Three for me!

1. 2009 mini that I used as my main desktop for four years until I got a used 2011 iMac to replace it.

2. G4 mini that I used as my home server for about a year until it was recently replaced by #3

3. A 2012 that I got for $300 at best buy a couple weeks ago to act as my home server. Holds all my media, hosts my website and email, and all of my machines back up to it.

Five days in and nine to go……..

Just over 90% of respondents have owned a Mac Mini, with about 2/3 of them having owned more than one, and half have had three or more.

Among those who have not owned a Mac Mini, half anticipate owning one. The the other half never will……. I'd be interested to know why; none have made a post.
