My wife is looking to upgrade to the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro with maxed out RAM and the mid-range processor. We'd get the education discount of $100 on that, and from what I understand we would get a $100 Apple Store gift card if we buy on Black Friday.

Because we're leaving the country on Sunday the 30th for a bit, I'm wondering how to best do this on Friday the 28th in order the get the $100 gift card on top of the education discount and BTO options.

So just to clarify:

• Can you double dip on the Black Friday gift card and education discount?

• How can I get my custom order in-store with Black Friday pricing on such a short basis?

Thanks for your help!

My understanding is that one can't apply the card against the purchase. One way around that is when buying the mac, don't buy the Apple Care package but do so with the card afterwards.

If anyone can comment on that IF i am wrong please do so.

As for having that all done by the 30th my guess is no but again, someone else here will have to verify that one way or the other...
