2012 Mini or 2014?

Looking to get a new Mac Mini just for browsing and iMessage and whatnot. I have a gaming computer for gaming, but windows is boring and I want something new. Im not sure if I should get the MGEM2LL/A (2014) for $450 shipped, or get the MD387LL/A (2012) for $470 shipped. Both brand new.

Edit: They are both the base model i5

It boils down to whether or not you want to be able to add ram to it later or not. The new ones have the ram soldered in. Other than that performance is similar.
