In my friend's new mophie case, the manual says that you could use the mophie as the main source of power till the mophie dies.
Has anyone used a battery Case this way,and why?

Yep I used to with my 4s mophie.

I would charge the phone in the case over night so both charged together then in the morning I would take it off charge leaving the mophie switch on which uses the mophies power. By mid day that would be depleted (9 hours or so light use) then the iPhone's battery would take over. It actually worked better than letting the iPhone discharge then topping up using the mophie.
