The iPad 3 was getting slow, and iOS 8 wasn't helping. So after 2 years and some months I've upgraded to the Air 2 (Space Gray 64Gb).

How long between iPads do you guys go?

You really notice the difference in weight between the 3 and Air 2 once you use the Air for a bit and then pick up the 3. Feels like a brick.

Got an iPad 2 the year they came out (WiFi 16 GB model). Got a mini 3 (Celluar 128 GB Space Gray). Still have the iPad 2, restored it and my daughter uses it, still works fine for kids apps and Netflix. Loving my mini 3, hoping to go just as long with it as I've done with my iPad 2.

Totally. I was thinking a piece of sidewalk slate. Had the 3 from first week released and now Air 2 from first deliveries from preorder.

I went 1, 3, rMini. Not really sure when I will upgrade my rMini. Probably will wait until my rMini can't keep up with the new OS version.

cogito, ergo zoom.
Retired the 64 LTE iPad 3 today for a 128 LTE Air 2. Transferred the AT&T unlimited data account with no drama. So that's about 2 1/2 years average, from iPad 1 to 3 to Air 2. Got the 1 and 3 on release dates, waited a bit for the Air2.

I try to hold out, but I usually fall for the hype of a new model. However, this time I may actually keep my air 2 for a while. The RAM was the most important feature for me. I don't game or do intensive task, so the air 2 can will last.

My upgrade cycle is inconsistent. Before my iPad 3, I upgraded every year. Then I purchased the iPad 3 on launch day and had it ever since a few weeks ago when I purchased the Air 2. I guess the updates to the iPad after the 3 weren't upgrade-worthy for me. Honestly, I probably would still have my iPad 3 if it wasn't for it's unbearable sluggishness after upgrading to iOS 7 last year. I didn't even try iOS 8.

However, I restored it as a brand new device and gave it to my sister, and she is loving it.

Ipad 2 -> iPad Air last year.

Will get a plus/pro if it comes out otherwise not interested in another ipad till it actually offers something new.

I chose 3+ years, but I think for me it depends on what the new models offer, sometimes I think I'll do a 2 year update cycle.

I had the original iPad. Then upgraded to the 3 on launch day. Plan to keep thy until next years air 3 is released and pick up an refurb air 2.

For what I use it for (watching movies and a few games). The 3 is fine for now but come iOS 9 I think it'll slow to a crawl (iOS 8 isn't great on it). So will be time to upgrade.
