My copy of Mail.app just crashed. When I try to open it, it opens, closes and tells me it is dead. Anyhow, I last backed up my computer a few weeks ago (stupid, i know)...but, All I want to do is pull out my old material from mail, since all the new stuff is on my gmail account. Where is the material that I will need? Should I just copy the entire ~/Library/Mail folder? Or should is there something more (or less) that I need to do?

Yeah, grab that Mail folder and maybe a file named com.apple.mail.plist too although your symptoms seem pretty indicative of corrupt preference files in which case copying across this file will replicate your issues. Have you got Mail fixed? How'd you do it? 🙂

Actually, I tried your suggestion first - replacing the plist. It worked. What is it that makes you guys extra-smart.😀

In Mad Jew's case, we think he's a cyborg. 😱 😉 😀

I need to back my e-mail up, actually, now that you mention it. I have to get some Dual Layer DVDs....
