Greetings!

I love my Imacs and i hated the fact that the source wanted a damn $20 for a clock battery. I wasnt going to spend $40 plus taxes on two old imac G3's. So I bought this 'AA' battery holder and soldered it to the prongs giving the imac a mere 3Volts. My Next issue was that i have to put the batteries somewhere and since the plastic cage wouldnt fit between the hard drive and the drive bay I pulled the entire hard drive CD rom caddie and placed it there. With my second G3 i did the same but the batteries seem to smell a little bit so im fearing somethings up. Never the less my Indigo Imac holds time!

MY imacs are:
Indigo
350Mhz PowerPc G3
512Mb RAm
16gb Fujitsu Hard drive
CD-Rom
10.3.9 Panther

The Tangerine
400Mhz
1gb Ram
80Gb WD hard drive
DVD-ROm
10.4.11 Tiger

What do you think guys? Just thought i'd share.

I made a battery pack of 2 AA batteries using wire and electrical tape. That was a little difficult but came out well. Then I put it in my beige G3. The only way I could've attached it is by wrapping the wires around the contacts, which I did, but the flickering power to the PRAM corrupted it and caused the machine to boot with a glass-breaking sound. Fixed by resetting PRAM.
I need to find a way to attach it better... I should probably get a battery holder.

Why are each wire on the IDE ribbon separated?
