PLEASE, if you notice any new bugs or even old bugs that aren't fixed yet, please post in the "Bugs" list below.

Known bugs fixed that appear in the change log:
- Reduced the amount of storage required to perform a software update
- Fixes an issue that prevented some users from entering their Apple ID password for Messages and FaceTime
- Addresses an issue that caused Spotlight to stop displaying app results
- Fixes an issue which prevented multitasking gestures from working on iPad
- Adds new configuration options for education standardized testing

Bugs fixed:
- Pulling Control Center with the keyboard displayed is smoother
- Phone call lag is gone

Bugs:
- Keyboard still randomly switches to default or fails to load in Messages and various other Apple apps
- Still can't leave app store reviews using non-default keyboard
- Lots of weird Safari glitches (for instance, the keyboard will overlap the point touched when activating a text box)
- Control Center still hangs if you swipe really fast
- Searching for text inside PDF files via Safari still doesn't work (post 176)
- Scrolling through albums in the music app is still a bit laggy
- Text selection in Safari is still glitchy and inaccurate
- Automatic (as well as manual) backup of device to iCloud stops working randomly (delete previous backup to resume automatic backups)
- Animation when expanding a city in the weather app is still a bit laggy
- Echoing alert tones still present
- Airplay still unusable in some apps
- Control Center still refuses to open sometimes on the lock screen on the 5s & 6 Plus
- Airplay menu in CC is misplaced, too small and hides Mirroring on the iPad (Mirroring still works, scroll in the menu)
- Delete Button for iCloud Tabs doesnt work
- Worse battery performance than 8.1.2
- Occasionally unable to leave the Phone app, multitasking won't work - forcing a shutdown/reboot of phone.
- Quick reply keyboard bug is back. (see post 156 on page 7 for photo)
- Spotlight Search lags when returning to Home screen (on iPhone 6, might be other devices, unsure)
- When trying to open any album with gesture, UI starts to refresh, randomly appears black background (iPads only) video on post 174.

Videos:

* The 8.1.2 jailbreak exploits have also been patched!
* Some user reported that R-Sim and Givey sims don't work anymore.

No love on the third-party keyboard front:
  • Keyboard still randomly switches to default or fails to load in Messages and various other Apple apps.
  • Still can't leave app store reviews using non-default keyboard.
  • Lots of weird Safari glitches (for instance, the keyboard will overlap the point touched when activating a text box)

Safari is not snappier.

It still has lag when using it in landscape mode on iPad Air. Go to a website, any website, then click on the address bar. When it highlights and slides left to reveal the full address (favourites box and keyboard appear also) the animation as the addres slides left is sluggish.

It's far better in portrait, but in landscape it's abysmal. Still, this wasn't fixed as of iOS 8.2 beta 4 so there's no chance it was going to be sorted in 8.1.3.

which applications cause these keyboard issues ? fleksy? swiftkey? which one?

All of them. These are all fairly well-reported issues that appear to be caused by bugs in Apple's keyboard API. They occur with exactly the same repeatability and frequency regardless of the keyboard being used.

It's funny that third-party keyboards work almost perfectly in third-party apps these days. They didn't in the initial release of iOS 8, but Apple appears to have fixed that much. It's just all Apple's own apps that have these weird problems. I suspect Apple does weird things with the keyboard API in their own apps that aren't properly accounted for in the new public API…

So, I'm confused - you say Apple hasn't fixed it, but you're showing a video of it opening perfectly smoothly?

Hehe, when you swipe down for the spotlight, the keyboard just pops up but if you keep the finger on the screen and swipe up and down, the keyboard becomes smooth. At 0:05 I kept holding the finger on the screen

Yeah, I can replicate that. I think it's an issue of whether the keyboard process has to load again or not. It probably doesn't unload until you release your finger.

One of Apple's more half-baked features. That said, third-party keyboards have a lot of problems on Android as well. Swiftkey suffers horrendous lag in a lot of apps on my Moto X (a problem that does NOT occur on iOS thankfully), and the haptic feedback randomly cuts out.

It's not just Apple, devs too just don't give their best anymore.

I don't think that's fair. Pretty much all the issues people complain about with third-party keyboards occur with ALL third-party keyboards. They also occur almost exclusively in Apple apps. If you read the Swiftkey forums, the developers have been pretty clear that these issues are Apple bugs that they have reported, and there are simply no workarounds available.

The bug with the incoming WhatsApp notifications disappearing from the lockscreen is not fixed... Seriously thinking on buying my girlfriend and my best friend an iPhone so I can finally ditch that crap App!

You always could, well I could. Using an iPhone 6 plus

I haven't been able to for awhile now and I've seen it reported quite a bit on the forums. Hmm.

EDIT: Okay, maybe it's always been possible but it's still more difficult to do than in other scenarios.

Too much wittering-on about third party keyboards here. Who cares, I never use 'em!☺️
How about some real bug quashing like the fact 8.1.2 raped the battery on my 6+? The landscape bug where links are sometimes impossible to press? The occasional portrait/landscape rotation lag and freezing? The way my iCloud backup isn't automatic anymore, it just never backs itself up so I have to do it manually. The intermittent non-responsive touchscreen. The intermittent screen freezing. The crazy-bad app crashes......How come none of these things are even mentioned in the update notes, and have any of them been fixed?

Who cares about your raped battery. Mine works fine, i want my 3rd party keyboards to work :p

Even with a Pebble watch connected to my phone all day I still get 10-12 hours of battery before hitting 10% battery warning on my 6+.

Well that's just bragging.#

When I click on a city in the weather app it still drops frames on my iPhone 6 . Wtf!?

Never mind the weather app, third party keyboards, ringtones and any other problems I'm not personally experiencing. Sort the other, important stuff!☺️
