Have any of you upgraded your MB Air? I want to try out a bigger ssd and maybe get some more space. The only program I really use is Adobe Photoshop. Im not big on music or movies but I take tons of pics so extra space is always good. I thought about trying out this upgrade since you end up with an external hd. Any input? How easy is it for a caveman to do?

I upgraded my wife's 2011 air (64gb ssd, 2gb ram 11" model) recently. I bought a 256gb apple Ssd online, cloned to the stock SSD to an external hard drive that was then bootable, swapped the ssd to the bigger one, booted from the usb and cloned back to the internal drive.

Bit of a slow process but means she now has around 190gb free space whereas she was struggling along originally.

It's quite a simple job, just allow yourself plenty time for the cloning.
