Looking to purchase a new TV for use in the spare room which will replace a monitor for the Mini that is in there.

What is the benefit of the 120HZ refresh rate when connected to the Mini?

Is it a noticeable difference?

120Hz reduces motion blur on objects moving quickly across the screen.

If you're using it as an HDTV to watch videos from your Mac Mini it'll be fine, else HDTVs generally make for really poor monitors.

The 120Hz or even 240Hz spec on TVs is interpolated refresh as well. The input is still 60Hz.
