Is it possible to remove the AD? If so, how?

Please don't tell me Adium is better because it has no ads, blah blah. I am well aware of the other third party clients for AIM.

search resexcellence.com for the ad free hack, there is one but it may not work for OSX.

You can filter the ads with a FireWall such as Intego NetBarrier.
