Too many numbers for me and when I change a plan with ATT CS I get a price and it is different when I get the bill. Getting Confused--

Would appreciate two prices for two different plans with 15% Military Discount. I have 42.45 Next Payment. Taxes are 12.42. :)

I have only two Smartphones with Data. The other, my wife's, is just a clamshell, no Data.

I currently have the 15gb Mobile Share and was told that was 173.00 plus tax, including the Next Payment. Taxes are 12.42.

I want to change to the 7gb with same criteria. What should my 15gb and 7gb bills actually be?

I got my first 15gb bill and it was 5.00 higher than quoted with only 3 weeks on the 15gb and one week on the lower Family Talk Nation 6gb. CS says it is bc we prorated, but that would seem to mean the first month should be lower. The bill actually started out at 199.00 then some other discounts that I didn't understand. Not sure how it even got that high with only 3 weeks on the 15gb plan.

Sorry if a little confusing. Just want to find out how much each plan "should" be with my particulars.

If wrong thread, please move MODS--:)

Thanks in Advance

I found a page where I can change 15 to 7gb. With my discounts. Is it better to do online than over phone?

Saves me about 22.00 a month. We will never use 15gb.

I still don't see how they got to 199.00 the 189.00 and recheck my taxes which are only 10.04.

The change should save you much more than 22 per month. The difference in plan prices is 55. It doesn't matter whether you change it online or go through CS on the phone, the end result will be the same, I've done both ways, it's easier online if you know what you're after.

The basic plan goes from 130.08 to 108.75 plus installment and tax per the page I am looking at. It is on my account page so should be tailored to me.

That doesn't sound right. I would suggest keeping that page up where you can view it and call Cust. Svc. From your AT&T cell, just dial 611. Ask them to walk you through the charges for the plan you want.

Was thinking just that--

Do you think it should be less?

The 173.00 is in line with what I was told a few days. The numbers actually are where they said after looking at website. But, the 199.00 down to 189.00 is off.

I just found this page on my account. Didn't see it before.

That's about right for the plan you're currently on considering discounts. If you want to switch to the 7gb plan you should be able to save around 50 a month, it's a little less than half the data at a little more than half the cost. The higher data amount plans result in greater savings per gb of data but costs more per month naturally. I'm currently on the 10gb plan which fits in the middle of the two you're talking about, 10gb is 100 per month, 7gb is 75 and 15gb at 130.

Ah, there is the difference. For some reason I am at 100.00 not 130.00. With 3 15.00 lines and a 15% discount.

Thus 130.00 plus my installment and taxes. Which adds up to what they quoted me.

I just think the current and first bill is 5.00 high but not going to waste my time on that.

Discount stuff

Also, discounts only apply to to the main part of the bill, the minutes/data/texting part, not the additional line(s) or Next fee.

Meaning, with my 21% discount, my account looks like this:

$100 (10gig plan) = $79
$15 x 2 lines = 30 (+ $25 because my wife has a subsidized phone from an old plan)
Next = $25

Then taxes and surcharges are on top of that, but I can't figure out if they're on the full $170 or the discounted 149.

I have never seen more than 9-11.00 dollars in taxes. I just looked at my bill previous to making these changes.

Well, I changed to 7gb and was able to print the info. Something I couldn't do over the phone. Best be on the mark come bill time--;)

Must say all the reps I have talked to were exceptionally friendly--:)
