Building a mini recording studio

I mean mini as really mini too. Basically we've had this huge garage for years. It's the size of 2 terraced houses but a little bit shorter (so no 2nd floor). I was in there today helping my dad out with some DIY and I've had a little idea. Theres plenty of room to partition off part of the garage and turn it into a mini studio or just a quiet computer room, detached from the house like.

the problem though; the garage is not insulated. so the partition will need insulating, which is where soundproofing came in. Isn't soundproof foam a more compressed version of heat insulation foam? There's no heating either so I'll be sticking in an electric heater or 2. There are no windows either. The wireless router, whilst in the house, is pretty close to the garage so a network connection is a definite.

We already have an old computer desk in there. I suppose all we need is a door, a computer, a wall and ceiling/roof with insulation.

Where on earth would I start something like this? Has anyone here done anything similar?
