any travel sites that can track hotels?

i want to take a trip to nyc sometime in the next few months. my timing is determined more by ability to find a cheap hotel room for a weekend than by anything else. as such, i would like to find a website that will allow me to track hotel rates in nyc for a broad range of dates (ideally specifying it to fri-sun or something)... so that i can tell it "let me know if any hotels in nyc go below x dollars for a fri or sat night between now and august..."

anyone know of a site that has such an ability?

it seems that orbitz (and others probably) have such a thing for flights, but i can't seem to get it for hotels.

any help would be great. thanks

No such thing as a cheap hotel in NYC. Try cheaphotels.com. You can get cheap rooms in hostels or choose to stay in Jersey (short ferry ride) or Queens (short subway ride).
