Does anyone know of any plugin that will allow me to set up multiple homepages for Safari? Thanks

What do you mean, "multiple homepages"? Do you mean multiple "default" webpages, as in pages Safari opens automatically when you open a new page? Or do you mean tabbed browsing?

Sorry, I meant multiple default homepages. So when I open a new window in Safari, three of my favourite websites open up in the same window in separate tabs.

thanks

I don't know about the multiple homepages, but if you put a folder on the bookmark bar and add your most frequently visited sites in the folder you can then have Safari open all of those sites in tabs.

Maybe someone with more experience can tell you. But, you may be able to write a script in applescript. I have done this for mounting remote volumes and other automated tasks. So possibly some scripter could tell you how to do this. Anyone here know if this would be possible?

Multiple Home Pages Safari 4

Create a folder in your bookmarks called "open" - or any other name.
Place your urls in that folder.
Go to preferences and select "New windows open with:"
select "choose tabs folder"
select your "open" folder
Exit Safari
When you open it again your home page tabs should be there!

They seem to do this a lot. First and only post in the forum. Resurrect an ancient thread. Post a meaningless or useless comment. You never hear from them again.

Ouch

First of all the question was asked !
Second the response was not meaningless nor useless
And Third, We Zombies are kind of slow

No, it was actually spot on and helpful

And Third, We Zombies are kind of slow

Thank goodness... or we could never outrun you!

I just had 'em whitened and was showin' 'em off! :D <-- see?

Nice to know it wasn't another "hit-and-run" post, although the OP hasn't been around since 2008, so I doubt they'll see any posts here.

I don't think it's useless because I usually do a general Google search first if I'm trying to figure out how to do something; if there's a thread with the exact question answered it's useful to me regardless of how old it is, and I don't have to search through multiple links to find one that helps.

Thanks to the question answerer

I just found this thread after Googling for "Safari multiple home pages".

I just found the answer to my question. Google means that even though the OP is long gone the rest of us can still find the answer immediately without needing to re-post and wait for a response.

Google is unclogging the tubes. Google is being not evil. Good Google.:apple:

thanks IDcookie

I also found this page from a search of Google. It came as the first hit, and I am glad that you took the time to post a solution. I am new to Safari, and a long time Firefox user, but have grown tired of the time it takes for Firefox to load, compared to Safari. I am looking to switch, but there are certain features about Firefox I would miss, including the ability to have multiple home pages.

After registering with this forum so that I could post a "thank you" I did see where there are other more recent posts about this issue, but I thought that your post was timely (for me, at least) and helpful, particularly since it came up first on my Googlesearch.

Clearly your detractors are more interested in making themselves appear clever than they are about making a meaningful contribution to this forum.

Thanks again!
