Apple Watch Launches April 24, Price Ranges From $349 to Over $10,000

Apple announced on Monday that the Apple Watch will be available in nine countries beginning April 24, with pre-orders starting on April 10. The first wave launch countries include the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and United Kingdom. Apple Watch will be available for purchase by reservation at Apple Stores, online and at select authorized resellers in China and Japan.
"Apple Watch begins a new chapter in the way we relate to technology and we think our customers are going to love it," said Tim Cook, Apple's CEO. "We can't wait for people to start wearing Apple Watch to easily access information that matters, to interact with the world, and to live a better day by being more aware of their daily activity than ever before."

Apple Watch Sport will cost $349 for the 38mm model and $399 for the 42mm model, the stainless steel Apple Watch will range between $549 to $1099, and the 18-karat gold Apple Watch Edition will cost between $10,000 to $17,000. Customers will be able to preview and try on the Apple Watch by booking an appointment at the Apple Store, or by visiting Galeries Lafayette in Paris, Isetan in Tokyo or Selfridges in London after April 10.

Apple CEO Tim Cook announced during the "Spring Forward" media event that the Apple Watch will have 18 hours of battery life on a single charge. Bands will retail for between $49 and $449, with additional magnetic chargers costing $29 for a 1-meter cable and $39 for a 2-meter cable. A new bands and accessories page on the Apple Online Store lists all of the available add-ons for Apple Watch.

Aside from the Apple Watch Edition models, the prices don't seem too crazy, actually.

All the prices are now up and running on the Apple site.

According to the UK the stainless steel with the link bracelet will cost £819...not sure I can drop that on a SS when the Sport starts at £299...essentially they are charging £520 for the strap....REALLY :eek:

I was going to get the middle model, but I refuse to pay 1K for a smart watch... downgrade to sport

Today's keynote told us almost nothing new about the Apple watch, except the price and exact availability details.

prices are about what I expected. still undecided, but based on what I'd pay if I opt for one. I know where I stand now.

Still amazed Apple are selling a product for over $10,000.

Also at their confidence when talking through the timekeeping aspects of the watch.

A great keynote, though!

There was a time long ago when I wanted the stainless steel  watch with a stainless steel link bracelet. Then I heard that the link bracelet alone will cost $449. Add that to the $550 starting price of the watch itself and well, perhaps il go with a sports model

Pricing is on par with designer fashion watches. Gold one is obviously for people who don't have to know what price it is.

J/K - I will be happy enough with the 42mm sport version.

You are not the luxury market Apple is targeting with that price. This watch is for watch collectors and Apple enthusiasts buying Audemars Piguet, Tag Heuer, Bvlgari Diagono, etc. You are not the target demo.

So are all those posters who said his prediction was ridiculous and that he is just another analyst with a spotty record going to jump in here and eat crow? The image that comes to my mind is the sound of crickets chirping.
