I switched default mail app to Cloudmagic and Mailbox app to use my Gmail account with push. Normally, I use 2-step verification on my google account but in these apps they are not accepting the passwords that is given by 2-step security. They ask for my main password.

When I activate these apps, I saw gmail logs have 2 new strange IP adresses. Checked them and see they are not from my network provider. They are from Cloudmagic and Dropbox (Mailbox app).

I think they receiving my mail data to their servers and sending it to me.

So, isnt it safe to use?

Kudos to you for being diligent with this. I think most of us have just gotten used to giving everything our gmail info. That said, it should use Google's dialog to authenticate, I'd think.
