I think its that 4 channel speed boost coupled with larger capacity mild speed bump.
Good stuff though, that's awesome.
Its probably Samsung's 3D NAND. Very exited about similar tech coming from competitors!
3D nand is already been implemented?
3D NAND is not out yet.
It better be, you paid like $2k for a 13 inch laptop...
Nice!
How do you like the new machine? I have the same max spec'd one on order right now to replace my mid-2010 MBP.

It's very fast and everything I was hoping for and then some (like the faster than expected SSD). I can see this being quite adequate for my uses for at least a few years .....
So now do you wait like 0.001s less time when opening apps?
Here is from my 2015 2.7/8GB/256GB also samsung ssd:

faster SSD helps in every way! Especially when you go from deep sleep to hibernation and back. Great for writing out to disk when out of memory. Great for apps such as video editing as well even though the dual core processor is less ideal than a quad core.

$2.5k, actually.
Edit: Damn $2.7k. I haven't paid that amount since my 17-in HP back in 2005...
$2,700 for a rMBP 13? lol What configuration?
The BTO maxed-out one with 1 TB SSD, 3.1 i7, and 16 GB RAM.

I never bothered pricing the BTO models. $2700 plus tax for a dual-core processor, 13 inch non QHD display and an integrated Iris Graphics 6100 GPU? Oh my...

It's a great machine. Why would you pick on someone else's buying decision?
