Hello everyone--

So, after having the phone since it was released, I'm noticing it suffers from light bleed. Could it be possible that this happens over time? I ask cause I could have sworn it was never there; or at least this noticeable.

Also, does anyone know if I'm covered by warranty?

Light bleed is pretty typical on LCD displays. Not something you really notice in real usage though

IPhone 6+ Light Bleed

Any way I can have it replace with warranty?

Edit: what's bugging me is that I didn't have this problem a few days ago. Only thing that's changed are jail break tweaks I've installed but that's it.

I am pretty sure a trip to the Apple store and they will replace it.

Now i have to check my 6+. How did you test for the light bleed? Just reboot it in a dark room?
Watching a vid on portrait.

Try this to test

You can also notice it in a dark room when you reboot the phone.

----------

Again, its weird cause I have booted the phone many times in that last couple of days and never noticed how bad it was on the left side.

Could it be just wear or a tweak I installed?

I am not sure. I just checked my 6+ and no light bleed so far.
Found this on Anandtech forum
There is actually an inconsistency in the cells, causing them to lose their ability to block light. Thus, the backlight is seeping through because the cells can't block it.

Here is a another black video to check for light bleed.

Dark closet with black screen and brightness turned up to MAX will show typical bleed on multiple devices.

MRU, my apologies but, I don't understand; perhaps a typo?

Yep definitely a typo... lol (that or I was in the middle of a seizure whilst typing).

It should have read 'I'd take it to be looked at HiDef'.... as in pop to an Apple Store matey.

Lol, thanks for clarifying! Definitely gonna try to take it this weekend.

While light bleed is fairly common, it's certainly not present in all devices (I have an iPad with minimal light bleed, though it took a few returns and my iPhone has basically none whatsoever). If it bothers you take it back.
