Went to the Apple Store today, because I couldn't figure out which size to pick, with my 160mm wrist. All clear now: 42mm!

Space Black and RVS. Space Black is not "black black", more like a darker grey, in some light it even looks as if it has a bluish hue:
They didnt have this model to try on, only on display:

42mm with leather strap. Looks great from the front. Wraps closely around the wrist:

But the backside, not so much: hated the bulky loop:

42mm with my current watch. Think the black one was 42mm as well, though it looks smaller.
But black one is flat, SS is a bit higher because of the band.

38mm on my wrist, pulling the band tight here, can't get it to stay this tight when regularly strapped:

38mm on wife's wrist:

Sport band 42mm, don't like the fit, doesn't "hug" the wrist like the leather or SS do:

From a distance, this was before they adjustes the strap (which literally took 20-30 seconds. :

Thank you for sharing! Do you think there's anything that can be done to make the sport band fit more snugly?

Thank god!

Someone with hairy wrists then me! :)

Great pics-thanks for posting. the SS was what i ordered and tried today-looking forward to it being on my wrist.

Maybe it will bend better after a while? Not sure, the rubber seemed quite stiff to be honest.

Its an interesting observation and I've noticed it in loads of photos - the gap on the sides of the wrists between the wrist and the band.

I reckon it will loosen up though.

Would wrapping the leather loop a bit tighter fix that problem?

Looks sleek on all other pictures I've seen.

I wish the price difference between was $50 or maybe $100 between the sport models and the regular apple watch, I would've picked up the leather one but $699 and $399 is a huge difference so I settled for the sport.

So the leather loop band is the only one that "hugs" the wrist?
I only tried on 3: Sport, Stainless and leather.

The Stainless Steel one fits best.
The Sport ones are loose on the sides (as you can see on many pics online).
The leather one looks nice from the front and is tight fitting, but has an unattractive bulge on the back.
That's also visible in this pic from another person:

Thanks so much for sharing this - very helpful! Do you know your wife's wrist size?

Not much help but scaled down, the difference between the two screen sizes is approx half of the difference between the iPhone 6 and 6 plus. That is on a scale though

Nice, what's the size of your wifes wrist?

I didn't know, but I do now ;)
145mm

Do you know what size leather loop you tried on?
Yes, the smaller one, because the big one wrapped all the way around and came back on top of the watch :)

Apple's PR shots sure make the 38mm look bigger than the ones in these photos.
If you look at this pic both Apple Watches are 42mm, but the SS looks bigger already, because the camera is so close: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7707/16477859693_eb1ff3a691_c.jpg
I read in another review here that for some reason they seem bigger in pics than when you see them in real life. When I look at the pic of the 38mm one I took, it seems like an alright size now, but when I had it on in the store it looked ridiculousnly small :)

Yeah I seriously do not see any difference between the 38mm and 42mm in the original post's pics.
