Hi,

Yesterday I purchased a new 2015 MacBook Pro Retina 13" from a non Apple retail outlet here in the UK.

The RAM on this particular model was 8GB, I asked about upgrading to 16GB and was advised that this could be done in store by their technical team. So I've left the machine with the tech team who are going to install an additional 8GB RAM. The brand of RAM that they will be installing is Crucial and I am being charged £90 for the pleasure.

I've since checked online and it seems as though RAM upgrades on new MBP models can only be done by Apple, before the machine has actually been built. I was hoping the fine folks on this website would be able to shed some light on this issue!

Thanks

Jay

That's correct. (It's soldered on and can't easily be replaced)
