Hello all!

my brother has little experience as video editor with local tv station(he works on some old version of Mac Pro there). We are planning to buy a 27 inch iMac for him.Basic purpose is to edit wedding videos for the local videographers. The resolution will be strictly Full HD(4k is still a long way for us)

We are from India and except the RAM we don't have a choice to upgrade processor or graphic card.

As my brother has little experience he is not sure if 27 iMac with 1TB HDD,i5 processor and 2GB graphic card is sufficient for his plans(he will upgrade the RAM to 32GB).This will cost us $2.5k.

Retina iMac with 1TB Fusion Drive is available for an extra $500.

Experts please help us to choose a mac.

Thanks in advance!:)

Can you find out the specs of that Mac Pro he uses at work? From there we might be able to determine how much of a step backwards, forwards or no where an iMac would be.
