Hello,

I recently a few months ago made a post on finding a mac for 3d animation.

Well, I'm settling on the 2013 mac pro. I am just wondering if the entry level version will be good enough for what I do.

I will be using maya and zbrush for 3d modeling and animation. I will have to render too. I'll be rendering with Renderman.

I am wondering also if I should upgrade the CPU to a 6 core, or upgrade the graphics cards instead.

Thank you,
Rockwellsulcata

I'd probably visit the Autodesk Area forums to see what any users over there think. I remember a few users there had the nMP. I also recall there being some driver issues originally that negatively affected performance on the nMP.

For renderman you're going to want as much CPU power as you can afford.
