Gold Plate/Rose Plate - services available???

I didn't want to put this in the other thread about gold plating because I don't want to impact their business model. But I just wanted to share with others about Kickstarter :

The price point seems about right; btw I have no affiliation with creator and so I cannot vouch for the product but it appears legit.

I had watched a few videos online from larger companies demoing how to use their plating kits. There are voltages change at various points and the timing is somewhat imprecise… too much voltage and the gold discolors, too little and it doesn't plate properly.... It seems like the sort of thing that you would want to leave to someone experienced. On the other hand for under $100 I guess why not.

Totally understandable about the warranty. Speaking of which, personally if I was to send in the device for the service I want at least 90 days of assurance that nothing is going to be effected, considering the price that is being asked.

^ I too share your concerns about the voltage but for $100... I guess labor and expertise cost $$$

If was was going to void my watch warranty (which I think is crazy, but to each their own), I'd go with these guys:

http://www.watchplating.com

They offer 2 year warranty on the plating, and have many years of watch plating experience.

Oh my… that website just looks terrible… have you actually used them before and know they are legit? It's always discouraging when a company hasn't redesigned their website since the 90s.

The two-year warranty is definitely cool... Safer than trying to play the loop-hole game with AppleCare.
