Smiles..

Is it just me or are the smiles different now? Like, in a different position than they were yesterday, not different faces.

Do you mean where they appear in posts or where they appear in the window where you compose posts?

There's been no change there that I'm aware of.

Perhaps your monitor tipped over and that's why it looks different?

Well, I know for a fact that it always used to have the yellow smiley on the top left with the confused face right next to it to the right. Today, it's like this...

Ah...you mean the individual smilies, not the smilies "box" in its entirety. I don't really remember how they were.

I came across this post from September that included a screenshot of yet another smilie order.

We upgraded to vBulletin 3.5 last October, and several minor releases since then.

We are currently on vBulletin 3.5.4, and a change like the one you noticed may have come in one of those releases.

This must have ahppened within the last 12 or so hours, as it wasn't like this when I went to bed.

Yeah, it was definitely different just recently. The yellow one was top left, mad and sad at the bottom, and the cool face one row down, iirc.

I noticed this today as well - it is different for me in both Safari and IE on my work PC. In fact, it has changed again - this morning mine looked like rye9's, but know the mad smilie has crept to the bottom right, and stick out tongue has moved to the top left. Weird.

There's still room to add one more smilie as well...

Happens to me all the time.
I love our smilies,

Not necessarily. Look at MySpace. They have whole bunch of smilies on their blogger, and a lot of them are redundant. There's such as thing as too many.

Would be nice to get more, but I wish they'd stop changing the order. Gets .

Myspace is a hellhole through and through, anyway. I think our smilies are fine at the moment, and you can always add your own with [IMG][/IMG] tags.

The only smiley that I'd actually like to have would be a sort of grim face...like this :-| or :-/

I feel myself looking for that quite often.

The phpbb forum system includes these smilies by default. Four are animated (although not in this screenshot). I find that annoying for smililes likely to be used routinely.

I like the current MacRumors set a lot better. Animation should be saved for special purposes.

Yes, the current MR set of smilies are better than those.
