I recently picked up a Western Digital myCloud external drive. So far, I’ve been very happy with the drive.

I have my iTunes library stored on it and access it from my Mac. I would like the ability to store a subset of that library locally. I believe this means I would require two music libraries and would need to hold down option when starting iTunes.

I am wondering if there’s a way to automatically start iTunes and get prompted for a library. If it means starting a script rather than the actual iTunes application directly, that would be fine.

Was wondering if anyone has done something similar or knows how to do this?

Thanks

if you hold down the option key as you open iTunes it will prompt you to either choose an existing Library or to create a new one.
