It didn't do that before, in the sense of before Tiger... But it has done that since 10.4.0.

Unfortunately, its one of those features I'll file somewhere at the back of my mind and the next time I need a definition I'll automatically hit google. Habits die hard. 🙄 😀
 
I use it all the time. I actually think it's helped develop my slightly mediocre vocabulary a little. 🙂
 
😱 I just did it over the word "Microsoft" in the advertisement above on this page, and Safari unexpectedly quit. I reopened and tried again, but no entries were found.
