PowerMac G4 Firmware Update - FAN TROUBLE FIXED

Just wanted to let all you PM users know there is now a firmware update to address fan issues of mirror-doored G4's:

"Power Mac G4 Firmware Update 4.4.8 improves fan control behavior and
reduces high speed fan cycling when running in Mac OS 9."

You can get it here:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120186

Now if they will only fix the power adapter problem on my PB!!!

That firmware was listed on the Apple Developer Connection e-mail dated January 31st, 2003 under Hardware as the following:

[4] New Releases: Power Mac G4 Firmware Update 4.4.8

Power Mac G4 Firmware Update 4.4.8 improves fan control behavior and
reduces high speed fan cycling when running in Mac OS 9.
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120186

Are you sure it's not a different firmware update, I can't believe that the developer connection would only be finding out about it now!! As I said originally though, I'm a PB user so I'm not familiar with all the PM updates.

Well, thats when I downloaded it. I even checked to see if there was a new one....but there wasn't. Only things there for me are the Airport update (no airport) and iMovie (Final Cut).

So, thats all I know.
