hi together,

i am new to the mac community.

i would like to use a mac to create nice diagrams for scientific papers.

i use the program "gnuplot" (www.gnuplot.info) for creating my plots.

gnuplot offers all to make data graphs, but with little design capabilities. it is e.g. hard to put text exactly there where you want it to be, and modify pointstyles etc.

so my questions are:

1) can you recommend another mac application for creating nice 2d/3d plots?

2) can you recommend a mac application for manipulating pdf images?

thank you

Welcome to the mac Empire.

Ok... um.. you can make pretty nice diagrams for reports and stuff with Microsoft Word.

Also, Adobe Acrobat is the official pdf app. It works pretty well.

What computer are you using, and what OS??

gnuplot

I'm going to run osx on imac g4.

take a look at http://homepage.mac.com/gnuplot/ for
more details about gnuplot for mac.

my point is which program is suited best to import the plots and to make them looking nicer for publishing purposes (e.g. illustrator, freehand, corel draw...) ?

thanks
