Is this on Tiger or Panther because the link to the OSXHints site tells you where the boot panel is on Tiger. Earlier versions of OSX have it in a different spot though. 🙂

Download the attached file. (It's my unmodified Tiger "WatingForLoginWondow" file.) From the Finder menu select "Go" then select "Go to Folder", type "/usr/libexec/" and press Go.
Drag the downloaded "WaitingForLoginWindow" file to newly opened folder. (You will have to type your admin password.)
That might do it... 😎
