What difference am I likely to notice going from a 2Ghz iMac with 1GB RAM to a 1.83Ghz iMac with 1.5GB of RAM?

I use applications like GarageBand, iPhoto, Aperture, iTunes, Mail, Safari, iChat, Delicious Library, Dreamweaver, Pages, ect.

$'s flowing from your wallet. I wouldn't bother personally.

I'm swapping my G5 iMac with my Mum's Intel one and purchasing another 1GB for it, so its a very cheap upgrade 😉

Is that before you get the MacBook and the 95" widescreen monitor?

My jealousy is so transparent.

I design on my computer and often have dozens of memory-sucking applications open at once. I never go above 1 GB of memory usage, and I never push even one of the 1.8ghz processors to 100%.

I'm using my 2.0 Core Duo for much of the same tasks and it handles them wonderfully. It doesn't get choked up at all like my old PowerPC setup did. 2GB RAM over here.

Remember Glenn you're going from a single 2GHz G5 to TWO 1.83GHz Intels. I'm sure you'll feel some kind of increase in speed.
